Which is the best and cheapest website for Airline tickets?

With a general question, you’re going to get a general answer. Please be more specific and update your question to add details–such as which route(s) and travel dates you need. Reasons: 1. we have no idea–this forum is not country-specific, 2. many low-cost airlines do not show up anywhere else except their own website, but we don’t know if these apply in your situation without knowing where you need to travel from/to. I’ll check back to see if you added details, then complete my answer for you.

Personally, I like Kayak.com. They search literally dozens and dozens of sites simultaneously, eliminating all the work.

They do, however, include as part of their search some of the sites you dislike, including Travelocity, Expedia, Orbitz, etc. But they also search multiple discount sites such as CheapoAir and BookingBuddy, as well as the airlines’ own sites (e.g. Continental.com).

I’m sure you have valid reasons for excluding more “traditional” search engines; and I too avoid them at times. However, when it comes to finding the lowest price for an airfare, I’m not too picky about who finds it for me. Kayak pinpoints the lowest price for me every single time.

And no, I don’t work for Kayak, I just love their site. I used to travel with a large group frequently, and we’d play a “game” in which the person who found the best fare would win a dinner compliments of the other players. I enjoyed many, many free meals because of Kayak.

    Good luck, and happy travels!
