Call your local airline services. Many of them offer discounted rates for this situation. If you don’t get help from whomever answers the phone, ask to speak with a supervisor. We had to do this a few years back, I can’t remember if it was continental or American, but they worked with us. You have my sympathy on the loss of your Grandmother.

Airlines offer something called a bereavement fare which is the cheapest possible fare offered. To qualify the person must be a member of the immediate family and you will have to provide the name of the funeral director along with their phone #
Some time s creative routing will get you a lower fare\
    sorry about your grandmother

I think most airlines offer a bereavement rate. I’m not sure what you need for proof, but call the airlines and see.
