    Try Orbitz, Expedia, Travelocity, Hotwire, Priceline.

    Then look at a couple of airline sites like United, American, etc.

    Unfortunately, most airlines did away with “bereavement fares” for family members. Can’t hurt to ask though.

    I’m sorry to hear about your loss.

    Most discount carriers, including Southwest, America West, AirTran and JetBlue, don’t offer bereavement fares, but the last-minute fares you find on them may actually be cheaper than the bereavement fares offered by the larger carriers (such as American, United, Northwest and Continental). Try and to compare fares from multiple carriers (that doesn’t take into account bereavement fares); then, go to the cheapest airline and call to see if you can get a discount off of the lowest fare you find.
