Round trips have to start from somewhere?

Buy tickets as far in advance as possible. Be flexible on days of the week and time of day.

If you become a southwest member you can get emailed great deals also try to plan far in advance and do not fly first class. The best time to book would be at a time when no one is flying then you can get a better deal plus on the plane it won’t be packed. I would do it on a week day preferably mid day or late night (but night might not be good for your kids) hope this helps

kayak.com or mobissimo.com are pretty good airline ticket price comparision sites.

Then have a look at yapta.com – they track the price of tickets & if the airline offers a cheaper fare than the one you purchased, you may be able to get a rebate of the difference.
